Business Development Engineer

Permanent / Part-Time

Due to departmental growth, a new opportunity has arisen for several Business Development Engineer opportunities within Business Development team at Ziegler Aerospace.

To support the Business Development Manager in implementing and Co-ordinating short, medium and long term commercial, sales and operational objectives.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation and generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
  • meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone and foster and develop relationships with customers/clients.
  • understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
  • think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
  • Achieve relevant KPI’s and make recommendations for the necessary courses of action to achieve optimum results.
  • work strategically – carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes and draw up client contracts – depending on the size of company.
  • have a good understanding of the businesses’ products (or) services and be able to advise others about them.
  • train members of your team, arranging external training where appropriate and discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department.
  • liaise with the finance team, Engineering, and Training departments as appropriate.
  • seek ways of improving the way the business operates and attend seminars, conferences, and events where appropriate. keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
Skills and experience
  • Academic Position Requirements:
    • Any combination of an engineering degree / HND equivalent that will support the required knowledge and abilities appropriate to the position.
    • Experience within a high value sales environment and within a long sales cycle format Experience.
    • Aerospace, Manufacturing, Engineering background an advantage. Key Competencies
  • Personal attributes:
    • Able to follow procedures with minimal supervision.
    • Strong Business Development experience and a sales background (desirable in manufacturing/aerospace/engineering discipline).
    • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
    • High degree of computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Other Skills/Abilities.
    • Effective communicator all levels.
    • Committed, focused.
    • Assertive and adaptable with good interpersonal skills
